Midnight Magic Studios has experience and the talent to not only capture your day, but also to capture the feelings and the emotions of your wedding day.

The name of a business says a lot. Midnight Magic Studios started in 2001 while I was working at a major cable network. I did wedding and event videos on the side and usually ended up doing my best work at night around midnight, as my wife calls it, my magic hour. Thus began Midnight Magic Studios. In 2006, I decided to make this my full-time occupation. Someone once said “Find something you love to do and you’ll never work another day in your life”. Since 2006, I have not worked a day yet. I simply have a love of shooting and editing video.
I have a very simple approach to wedding and event videos, my assistant and I use a cinematic style. This creates a video that you will cherish forever. [Read More...]

Admit it, we’ve all sat through all kinds of wedding videos, some were so beautiful you cried at the end, others were just to painful to watch. Some dragged on for what seemed like days, others were so short you didn’t even get a chance to get comfortable on the couch. Some videos were so fuzzy, you couldn’t really tell who was getting married. While with others, you could see the participants, but not hear a thing. In order to capture a quality video, please, turn down Uncle Bob when he offers to pull out his camcorder.
I understand the importance of a quality video. Photographs, while a very important part of your wedding, can only capture a silent moment in time. But, while beautiful, these pictures can be staged and are usually the same poses from wedding to wedding. Your wedding, however, is unique. You deserve to have memories captured in a high quality format that you can enjoy for years to come, and even share with your children and grandchildren. Think about it this way, how wonderful would it be to see your grandmother on her wedding day?
Great, you’ve decided to have your wedding professionally video taped. Now what? Just how do you choose a great videographer? It’s true anyone can go to the “big box store” and buy a really great camcorder but that doesn’t make them a great videographer. That is like someone having a digital point and shoot camera and calling themselves a professional photographer. Would you hire them to photograph your wedding?
When picking a great wedding videographer think of it like choosing a photographer. It is often best search for both at the same time. Start off on the web of course. Most professional videographers have a web site, and on their site should be clips of their work. If you don’t see clips on their web site this should raise some concerns. The clips on line will allow you to see some of their work and will give you a good idea what their style is and if their style will fit what you have in mind for your wedding video.
When I started Midnight Magic Studios back in 2001, I didn’t want to be just another wedding videographer. I wanted to stand out, do something completely different with wedding videos. So, I sat out to do as much research as possible about wedding videos in the East Tennessee area. I talked to other videographers, looked at their web sites to see what they did and what they offered. I talked to brides and newlyweds. I wanted to know what they wanted from their wedding video, what they liked and what they didn’t like.
I then started looking nationally in different cities across the country. What were others doing with wedding video? What was popular? What worked and what didn’t work? I wanted to learn as much as possible. The first six months of the business was spent on research. So what did I find out?
