Admit it, we’ve all sat through all kinds of wedding videos, some were so beautiful you cried at the end, others were just to painful to watch. Some dragged on for what seemed like days, others were so short you didn’t even get a chance to get comfortable on the couch. Some videos were so fuzzy,  you couldn’t really tell who was getting married. While with others, you could see the participants, but not hear a thing. In order to capture a quality video, please, turn down Uncle Bob when he offers to pull out his camcorder.

I understand the importance of a quality video. Photographs, while a very important part of your wedding, can only capture a silent moment in time. But, while beautiful, these pictures can be staged and are usually the same poses from wedding to wedding. Your wedding, however, is unique. You deserve to have memories captured in a high quality format that you can enjoy for years to come, and even share with your children and grandchildren. Think about it this way, how wonderful would it be to see your grandmother on her wedding day?

Hire a professional videographer. I don’t mean someone who has a card and a camcorder and calls himself a videographer. Digital camcorders are great and the technology they have inside does a really great job capturing an image. But a good wedding video is more involved than just having a camera. I’m sure Uncle Bob will do a nice job, but does he know the must have shots for a wedding?  Does he know where to position his camera to get the best shot?  Does he have proper lighting equipment for inside the church? Does he know how to edit the raw video together so that it tells the story of your day?  I mean, find a professional service, with experience, to capture your entire wedding, and edit and compile a video you will be proud to share.
